In Christ, the judgment of God is nonsense apart from His grace, and the grace of God nonsense apart from His judgment.
The “Beauty” of Evil
“Error indeed is never set forth in its naked deformity, lest, being exposed, it should at once be detected. But it is craftily decked out in an attractive dress, so as, but its own outward form, to make it appear to the inexperienced more true than the truth itself.”
-Irenaeus, Against Heresies, Book 1:2
None of us can make it through life totally on our own. We need to be able to depend on others, to seek their help. But we all need God as well, not just for salvation or His help to live a holy life. For our daily bread as well. Jesus, as He often does, lays it out quite directly and simply on how to ask for the provision of our daily needs. He explains it in Luke 11, saying simply: “So, I say to you…”
Ask and it will be given to you.
Seek and you shall find.
Knock and the door shall be open to you.
“For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds and to him who knocks, the door will be open.”
