Most Faithfully Fulfilled New Year’s Resolution
While it might not be a genuine New Year’s resolution, there is something people do get right to on New Year’s Day more so than they do on any other holiday of the year: steal cars. The National Crime Information Center reports that if indeed people make a resolution to get a new car in the New Year, a great number of them are opting for acquiring themselves some hot wheels. More cars are nabbed on this day than on the mischief-making day of Halloween or any other holiday of the year.
What Should Be New in the New Year?
“The object of a New Year is not that we should have a new year. It is that we should have a new soul and a new nose; new feet, a new backbone, new ears, and new eyes. Unless a particular man made New Year resolutions, he would make no resolutions. Unless a man starts afresh about things, he will certainly do nothing effective. …Unless a man is born again, he shall by no means enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.”
